a question about ranking up

Okay, so I know you have to have around 5,500 fame to level up from Duke to Prince. I'm sitting at around 5k right now, but I had 5.5k about a week ago. I tried to rank up, but I got this screen, and have been getting it since then. I've also fallen in fame every time I play.

What is this gift I have to present???

You don't giver gifts and it's not based on fame. You rank up based on favor. You gain the queen's favor by spending time in her court. either mingle, boast or game. You should be gaming. You have plenty of guts to game all day and advance your favor fast. Spend the next couple of weeks just doing game and you'll see the results after a couple days. Go to the list and click the favor tab. Here's an example of it:


As you can see all the names here that are dukes have less then 5500 favor. The others have not been in the court spending time with the queen so their favor dropped. If you spend time in the queen's court building favor you'll loose fame. If you go out to quest for items and gain fame, you loose favor. I spend all my time in the court with game till I get to Seneschal then quest. Once you start waking up in the morning and it says the queen has been missing your company, then that means your fame has gotten so low that she might take away your rank. At that point game for about 50 quests then the rest quest with.

Well, I usually go out and quest about a hundred times, then I go back to the court and mingle and stuff for the last 50 or so.
So I should just mess around in the court for a while?
