*Shadow walked down the Demon Guardian's corridors, glancing into the various open doorways and portals. He had no destination in mind; he was merely strolling through the castle. His walk brought him down one hallway where two new signs had been added above two of the doorways: White Fire and Dark Ministry.
He stood regarding these two signs for a moment. These must be the new factions he had been hearing talk of. He moved before one of the doors, which was closed, and noticed a member roster. He chuckled a bit upon reading the list of names thereupon.
Then, he turned toward the other doorway, also closed, and read off the enlisted members of the White Fire faction. A smirk played upon his lips.
So, Demon Guardians had split into factions... Perhaps he could use this new turn of events to his own ends.
He remembered back hundreds of years, to the time when he had been inducted to one of the most secretive and powerful sects in the world. Perhaps it was time to re-embrace the teachings of his old order.
He stood considering the hallway for another moment. There were two other rooms along this corridor, and he moved to stand before one of these doors now. He pushed the door inward upon its hinges and peered inside.
The room was empty except for one massive wooden desk and a couple of chairs along one wall. A bookshelf lined the wall behind the desk, and a single window allowed sunlight to trickle through the dust hanging in the air.
Yes, this would make a great office...
He pulled the door back closed, and started off down the hallway, toward his personal quarters.
He returned to the room a few minutes later carrying a sign of his own. Having hung the sign over the empty room's door, he pushed his way inside and hastily began cleaning up the dusty cubicle.
He took a seat behind the desk and leaned back, kicking his booted feet up on the desk's surface. Even if he gained no members to his cause, this would prove a perfect place to build his plans and work in quiet.
The Order of the Dragon would soon reclaim the respect it once held. The Order would never die...*
