For those that didn't read this in the Sig section (which was a big spam by the way) I've now posted it here aswell. It's a great game and I think you should all consider playing it.
Warhammer40,000 comes in 2 versions... The Videogames, and the board game.
The videogame verison is pretty much self explainitory, but For those that don't know what the board version is let me explain:
1) You need to pick a race (Tou, Necrons, Space Marines, Choas Space Marines, Orcs, Imperial Guard, Tyrnades, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Witch Hunter, and some human team (I don't remember the name).
2) Then you need to buy the correct codex for the race you have chosen. (The rule book on the Power of your race. It tells how many steps you can take and what not.)
3) Then you need to buy a bunch of little models of that race. (They come in meny sizes and there are a bunch of different sizes. Before you can battle you need to have atleast 500 points. For Example, 1 Necron Soldier guy equals 14 points. It tells you how much points a model has in your codex.
4) This part is optional, but the models you buy come in either plastic or a type of medal. You can choose weither you want to paint them or not, but when it comes to painting them, you need a special kind of paint for one and for two you have up to like 10 different ways you can paint them. It says the different ways, which are called chapters, in your codex.
5) Then you just need to learn how to use your team. The best way, I think, to do that is to play against friends or you can buy another team or enough people to split into another team and battle yourself. That ways always fun cuz no matter what your declared the winner.
I play this game almost every weekend. I have won very few battles and I've lost a bunch. Normally you just play for fun, but you can enter tournys for money or free prize give aways. I've chosen the race "Chaos Space Marines" cuz I'm all into the undead evil demon thing. The colors I painted them are Blood Red, Gore Red, Something Gold, and Something Bronze. You can always add your own little color touch ups as long as people can still tell what chapter you are from. Cuz some chapters can team up with other chapters of the same race.
One thing thats cool about this is that when you battle you can play anywhere. Where every you are it can become a battle field. If you wanna play in your very own living room, you can, you just need a ruler no matter where you play. How many inches you can move is in your codex. If you wanna climb a sofa, you can. It just takes a ruler, but you don't get to move as far as you would normally going straight. You have to slant the ruler from exactally where you are.
For those that don't care for what I just said theres good news for you. This game is coming to the world of Internet in 2007. Except it will be more funner, like world of warcraft or something along those lines, but individual games are out for the PS2 and CPU. There are only, I think, 4 games out. Each game that comes out represents a race. They only have Space Marines, Tou, Necrons, and Orcs. I'm looking forward to Chaos in 2007. The newist one that just game out is the one for Tou. The games are kinda like Helo only you can control more then just one person and it's also multiplayer based.
One more quick note about the board game is you can even build your own landscape (Put it together paint it and put it out on the battle field).
ALL WHO PLAN ON PLAYING IT BEWARE!!!!! THE GAME IS VERY ADDICTING, ESPECIALLY THE VIDEOGAMES!!!!!!
If anyone has questions about the game you guys need to PM me, because if you keep replying to this thred this place will only become a big spam so SForce if your reading this LOCK IT NOW! Also, if people keep posting here there will be more pages then one, meaning this post will be left in the first page and no one will be able to see it cuz there too busy reading the spams.
Thank You
